I can’t retrieve emails or browse any websites! What’s wrong?

  • This may be due to a DNS issue, where your computer or modem is unable to convert the address you’ve typed, into an IP address to source your request from.
  • For most Windows computers:

    1. Click on your Start menu, go to ‘Control Panel
    2. Click on the ‘Network Connections’ icon (this requires you to use classic view)
    3. In network connections double click on the network connection you are using (eg. Local Area Connection 1)
    4. Click on the ‘Properties’ button
    5. In the white box labeled: 'This connection uses the following items:' double click on 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)'
    6. Click the button for 'This connection uses the following DNS server addresses' Type in the following:
      • Preferred DNS server: 203.23.236.66
      • Alternate DNS server: 203.23.236.69
      • Click OK and then click OK again
  • If this doesn’t resolve the problem, try turning off any internet security programs currently running on your computer such as Norton’s, PC-Cillin, VET or Zone Alarm

  • Try a second browser such as Mozilla Firefox to see if it has the same issue
  • Failing this, you could try using a proxy server in your browser:
  • In Internet Explorer:
    1. Click on Tools, then ‘Internet Options’
    2. Click on ‘Connections’ and then ‘LAN Settings’
    3. Tick the box that says “Use a proxy server…”
    4. Enter the following address and port details:
      • Address: proxy.spin.net.au
      • Port: 8080
    5. Click OK.
  • If you continue to have issues after doing this please contact support on 1300 303 375
