How to make sure your Network settings are ready for ADSL. This guide is made for Windows 7.
Open Control Panel by clicking on Start/Windows button and choosing Control Panel.

Click on Network and Internet

Click Network and Sharing

Choose Change Adapter Settings from the menu on the left side.

You should find a Local Area Connection, it should look like this:

If it says Unplugged instead of Connected, check your connection to the modem
If it says Disabled, right click the connection and choose Enable.
Double click on Local Area Connection and choose Preferences:

Click on the Internet Protocol Version4, choose Properties

The settings should all be Automatic
